Grant Thornton International is pleased to announce the appointment of a new member firm in Ukraine. Legis Group (a substantial local audit and consulting firm), Grant Thornton Armenia and Grant Thornton Cyprus are establishing a joint venture which will operate as Grant Thornton Ukraine from 1 January 2012.
Grant Thornton’s previous firm in the Ukraine resigned from the global organisation in July but senior managers from the exiting firm will join the new firm.
The new firm, led by Oleksandr Chalyi and Inna Novak, will have more than 50 people and will be one of the top seven audit and consulting firms in Ukraine. They will offer audit, tax and advisory services and have strong capabilities in the oil & gas and energy sectors as well as expertise with international financial institutions (IFIs) and banks.
Ed Nusbaum, CEO of Grant Thornton International, commented, “We are delighted to have reached an agreement with Legis Group and its partners that allows us to strengthen still further our already strong presence across the CIS region. We are also pleased that senior managers from our exiting firm will be joining the new firm to give continuity to clients.”
Inna Novak, managing partner of Legis Group, said, “We are pleased to be joining the Grant Thornton global organisation, which is an excellent fit for our firm because we share the highest professional standards. Membership of Grant Thornton will provide us with the ability to offer world class audit and consulting services to our clients in Ukraine. We look forward to building relations with the other Grant Thornton firms in the region and beyond.”
