Grant Thornton has appointed a new member firm in Senegal, the first time the global accounting organisation has had a presence in the country. CICE Senegal, which will go to market as Grant Thornton, is led by Mansour Gaye and provides a full range of audit, accounting, tax and advisory services. The firm has 50 staff and is based in the capital, Dakar.

CICE Senegal has operated in Senegal since 1992. Last year the firm achieved impressive revenue figures of $2.5 million, placing them third after Ernst & Young and KPMG.

Ed Nusbaum, CEO of Grant Thornton International, commented: "We are delighted to welcome CICE Senegal, an experienced and well respected firm, to Grant Thornton. Our presence in Africa continues to strengthen and the addition of our first member firm in Senegal is another great step towards our 2015 ambition. We look forward to working with Grant Thornton Senegal to continue to develop strong business relationships across the region."

Mansour Gaye, managing partner, said: "We are delighted to join Grant Thornton and work as part of a global organisation. We are a successful and ambitious firm continually looking to grow. Operating as Grant Thornton puts us in a unique position to provide distinctive client service and challenging careers to ambitious professionals, both of which will greatly advance our capabilities in the region."

Grant Thornton operates globally in over 100 countries offering assurance, tax and advisory services to listed companies, privately held businesses and the public sector.
